Korda DF Carp Rig Barbless Wide Gape

Description

The Korda DF Carp Rig Barbless Wide Gape is a ready-tied version of one of Danny Fairbrass’ preferred rigs. It allows anglers to use a proven setup straight from the packet without needing to tie rigs themselves.

This rig uses a blowback style design, with a rig ring running along the hook shank. As a result, the hookbait can move freely and behave more naturally in the water. In turn, this helps improve hooking efficiency when fish pick up the bait.

A short section of shrink tubing sits on the hook to create an aggressive angle. Because of this, the hook turns quickly and takes hold more effectively. This makes the rig suitable for a range of fishing situations.

You can use this rig with bottom baits, wafters or pop-ups. However, when using pop-ups, you should add a small counterbalance weight to achieve the correct presentation.

Korda ties each rig using N-Trap Soft coated braid. Sizes 6, 8 and 10 use 15lb material, size 4 uses 20lb, and size 2 uses 30lb for added strength. Therefore, each option provides the right balance between strength and presentation.

The rig includes a size 8 swivel connected with a figure-of-eight loop knot. This allows quick attachment to your lead system and helps save time when setting up.

Overall, this ready-tied barbless rig offers a practical and consistent option for anglers who require a barbless hook pattern while maintaining strong hooking performance.
