Description
Korda Flying Backleads offer an updated version of the original Safe Zone Flying Back Leads. Korda has redesigned them for use with either mono or braided main line, giving anglers greater flexibility when setting up.
During the cast, the Flying Backlead travels back up your main line. As a result, it helps pin as much line as possible to the lake bed between you and your rig.
A clever slotted insert makes the system particularly convenient when using mono. Simply twist the insert until it aligns with the slot in the backlead to remove it from the line. Therefore, you can easily switch between different backlead sizes when the fishing situation changes.
Braided line can become trapped in a conventional slotted insert. Because of this, Korda also supplies a dedicated braid insert with each pack. This allows you to adapt the same Flying Backlead system to suit your chosen main line.
In addition, each setup includes a small rubber bead. You can use this as a buffer when the Flying Backlead sits above your leader knot before casting, including when using a Dark Matter or Kable leader.
Korda Flying Backleads come in two sizes: Small at 3g and Medium at 5g. Furthermore, Korda etches the weight onto each backlead, making identification straightforward. Both sizes feature a brown camouflage coating.
Overall, the system provides a practical way to keep more of your main line pinned down while retaining the flexibility to use either mono or braid. Each packet contains five backleads with inserts, five braid inserts and five rubber beads.

How To Use
Choose the correct insert for your main line before fitting the Flying Backlead. Use the slotted insert with mono, or fit the dedicated braid insert when using braided line. When required, position the supplied rubber bead above your leader knot to act as a buffer. During the cast, the Flying Backlead will travel back up the main line and help pin more of it to the lake bed.
When using the slotted mono insert, twist it until the slot aligns with the opening in the backlead to remove it from your line. You can then change between the Small and Medium sizes as required.
